Skin Types
Skin types are primarily based on how much oil is produced in the follicles from the oil glands. The
information below will give you some idea of your skin type.

  • Sensitive skin has less tolerance of chemical substances and is easily irritated.  Typical
reactions are itching, burning, chafing and stinging.  After a wash, it feels dry and itchy in places
and by midday there may be flaky patches and some redness.

  • Dry skin feels dry to touch and the pores are very fine.  After a wash, it feels tight and by midday
    flaky patches appear.

  • Normal skin does not feel dry or oily and the pores are visible but not large or clogged.  After a
wash, it feels smooth and comfortable and at midday it still looks fresh and clean.

  • Combination skin is normal with a few dry patches and a few oily patches usually on the T-
zone.  After a wash, some areas feel dry and some smooth and by midday the T-zone is shiny.

  • Oily skin feels very greasy and the pores are large and visible.  After a wash, it feels fine and by
midday it looks shiny and often break out in spots.

  • Blemish skin is often characterized by skin discoloration or dark spots, sometimes know as
Hyperpigmentation as a result of acne whiteheads, blackheads or just plain old pimples.

  • Problem skin is acne or acne vulgaris that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your
pores. Some people call it blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. When you have
just a few red spots, or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Severe acne can mean hundreds
of pimples that can cover the face, neck, chest, and back or it can be bigger, solid, red lumps
    that are painful (cysts).
